Removing the reference to real world locations is obvious.
For the latter change, saying they 'obtained a new Pokemon' from Mew is vague enough that it could mean birth like in the original, or that it was cloned from Mew, considering that the games seem to have adopted Mewtwo's origin from the anime.
Also, Pokemon don't give birth anymore. They have eggs.
