>>51636137>What made Hoenn routes so iconic and timelessGee I dunno anon! Let's go through them all.
 A straight line
 A straight line
 A straight line...with le Surf
A straight line...with le straight line forest in the middle
 A straight line...on water
 A tiny transition area
 A straight line...on water
 A straight line...on water
 A tiny transition area
A straight line...except there's a straight line bike track hovering above the root for some reason
A straight line, with a desert that's also a straight line if you come back later
 A tiny transition area
Lemme guess, is it? Why yes, another straight line! But it's blanketed in gray shit so le soul!!!
 Oh boy...another straight line...
Has a tiny bit of variety
 Back to the straight lines...
 Another short straight line
 A tiny transition area
The one route every hoenntard uses because it's actually fairly decent
 Back to the straight lines
 Straight line...with le fences
Back to the tiny transition areas
Straight line, except arbitrarily blocked off on one end
Then no less than EIGHT fucking shitty flat water routes with nothing on them that could be made in unity by a retarded college student that exist to pad out the lack of endgame. That's over 90% of the routes in the game either being hallways, decorated hallways, small transition areas the game calls 'routes' to make the area list look bigger, or featureless planes. Completely fucking terrible design, it's an embarrassment to nearly every gen that came before and afterward (except 1, but 1 at least had the courtesy to have actual expansive dungeons and nonlinear design that didn't railroad you through every tiny hallway).
Starting to think that schizo who said there's hoennfags all the way down might not have been so schizo after all.
