That's like asking D*sney to cancel The Simpsons and Family Guy and do hard reboots of them. The short answer is always No, Pokemon has lived up to the reputation of being a long running TV series in the same vein as Simpsons and Family Guy, they've gone on for 20+ seasons at this point so there's no reason to stop since they're making alot of money so just keep the shit going and keep the same shitty main character for future generations.

Factually every single long lasting animated show (anime/cartoon) become a hollow archetype that was originally just a partial piece of their general character. There quite literally has never been a single instance where the focused character didn't change who they were as a character for a 1-2 traits and emphasized 10 fold. Even Goke and Luffy aren't immune to it.

Weirdly enough the original series had a lot of comedic moments just through snarky remarks and corny one-liners alone, but the moment they actually decide to do comedy in Sun and Moon it becomes the most cringy unfunny shit like Ash shaking his ass to train his rockruff.

Gary had his data encrypted with a virus when Ash reararched info on his opponents, that was in Silver Conference.

He HAD used PC, right down to the word "data" in DP League though (before the battle vs Conway).

I hear ya. I feel the same as you do. I don't know if the staff purposely turned Ash into a goofy dumbass solely to prop up Goh or if it was for other reasons, but there were many other ways to portray Goh's character without sacrificing Ash's in one way or another.
