I was meh on ORAS but was hopeful for the DP remakes, but after BDSP I honestly just hope they skip Unova. Gena 4 and 5 were my favorites and would hate seeing BW get the BDSP treatment

ORAS is a masterpiece compared to BDSP.
It has the full dex to the date and the gen gimmick.

Also it fixed quite A LOT the plot of RS.

Plus the Delta Episode was pretty good.

BDSP is playing with an emulator, fairy type and high graphics.

I love this cope, because it'll never happen. XY is 9 years old and people still don't care about XY because most fans recognizeit as a genuinely mediocre game. Nobody's making YouTube videos or online essays on how underrated XY is on a daily basis. By comparison, people were clamoring about BW was underrated since it was 5 years old. I'm 35 and have played every generation when it came out. Gen 5 was the best, followed closely by gen 2, and then gen 1. Gen 5 was able to recapture that feeling of "everything is new and unknown" that the early games had. It probably helped that I played gen 5 on an untranslated pirated rom the moment it was out, so the little hand holding that is in the game couldn't help me as I don't read moonrunes. Gen 5, to me at least, was "I have no idea where to go or what to do, I guess I'll just explore this world full of unknown creatures" which, frankly, is what Pokemon should be all about.

I am 27, and Yellow was my first pokemon game. I played every gen at launch until USUM and, to me, GenV is the best one. Unova has a lot of soul in its graphics, storyline, music and lore.

I disagree on the subject of remakes specifically
one of the most underrated aspects of playing through games like HGSS and ORAS was getting to use newer pokemon in a region that they did not originally exist for
which made it all the more retarded when BDSP did not have a single later gen pokemon

I hope they just skip it. I've been so upset that they culled Sylveon from BDSP because it fucked so many people's ribbon master Sylveons when they didn't have to. I have no doubt in my mind they'll do the same, and I've been trying to plan around this problem but don't want to wait 5 more years just to confirm.
Hopefully of all the things to remain faithful on when they inevitably pull a BDSP for BW remakes, not having any ribbons will be one of them

BW remakes would be the easiest to produce. BDSP was disappointing because they cut a-lot of improvements from Platinum, but BW1 is a simpler game. It's plot driven with linear world navigation. All the extra features like Dream World and Entralink have been dead for years, unless they try to bring them back as offline mini-games.

You didn't hear this from me, but the next remakes are going to be the RGY (Generation 1) games. They're going to be announced next year coupled with the announcement for the new console (will be playable on both).

There aren't plans yet to run through GSC (Generation 2) remakes after the RGY remakes, so I can't say if the plan is to restart the count again on the new console or if the plan is to just do a quick detour through RGY to help boost the new console before going back to BW (Generation 5). That's being handled by a different team so I don't know if they're just waiting to finish their current project before deciding or if they already know and just haven't shared anything yet. If I had to guess it's just a quick detour, but that's not based on any evidence.

But yeah, should be a very exciting announcement when it happens.

I legitimately hope Gen 5 gets skipped when it comes to remakes, since it's clear Game Freak can't make games in 3D to save their lives, and ILCA should stay as far away from game development as possible. Sure discucks will act all high and mighty and say that "Gen 5 was so bad they didn't even want to remake it LMAO" but the truth is we'll have the last laugh, when Gen 5 remains unbutchered, while Gen 6 remakes are made even more handholdy and linear.

Like the only element they have left is True Dragon but I think it'd be neat to see a Unova 10+ years later. That's why it'd work. I've always considered that since BW sold the least it had the least amount of new players. It's always been veteran fans who liked it the most. Also why as much as I cringe at the shitty-names for the other region fans, I think Unovabortions is actually apt.
