I haven't played Pokemon since I was a kid and I'm pretty sure I was a spam earthquake kind of kid that just grinded too much and steam rolled the game. Any tips for someone getting into Pokemon in a more serious way? I just plan to play single-player and try to make it somewhat challenging. I hear I need to use the "set" battle type. I'm playing Platinum on an old 3DS btw.

Also is it worth trying to access multiplayer features or is the game fun alone? Should I play on an emulator? What's the difference? Thanks.
