A better way to make this image is to have the Game at the bottom, the level on the Y axis, and then a single line for each game divided up based on the progression. Easier if each game is one line than and keeps them seperate insetad of overlapping like this

The rate at which levels increase. A slow level curve, like GSC, will have you facing lower level enemies for longer while a higher one, like XY, will have you fighting stronger opponents faster.

That chart is hard as fuck to read, but Kanto unironically got it right first time around. Most "hard fights" people remember in Pokemon are earlygame battles like Whitney's Miltank and Maytwo, but in gen 1 all the tough shit like Sabrina and Lance are pretty late into the game. It's a good difficulty curve
