Why are they marketing this game so weird?

Exactly, previous games threw all parts of the story at you piecemeal as you progressed, this time you can ignore the gyms/evil team/collectathon and do one or the other stories to completion first then the others or can play it the way they made past games, taking a little from each storyline and progressing all three at once.

You need to complete all three to complete the game though, they even said something to that effect. It's literally just giving you freedom of choice when you do the storyline, just as the open world is giving you freedom to go where the fuck you'd like after he opening.

Game is only over until you fight the Champion (Ghetsis in BW is the exception)

Realistically, these two are gonna take like 2-3 hours each to beat, right? It's either gonna be short and sweet or padded to hell.

There are only 5 Titan Pokemon
There are only 5 Team Star Bases

Think differently, you have the main route, the gyms, and the secondary route, titans and team stars.
The secondary route, the "new" one of SV, is longer than the gyms
