All Pokemon species have the sapience of dogs because it's too hard for Lazyfreak to deal with different levels of sapience. Tajiri himself permitted the anime to have different sapience levels for different species, but the writers decided against it and went with only Meowth.

Well firstly Pokémon being sapient does not necessarily mean they can speak a human language as that might have to do with evolving a voicebox capable of that. However there are also the fact of psychic Pokémon, especially Legendaries, communicating with humans telepathically.
There are other Pokémon that show planning and high levels of intelligence. In Black and White, there are a Zoroark and Zorua which are intelligent enough to blend in with humans.

But this is wrong, they all understand human speech. The only difference between Meowth and say Pikachu is that Meowth can speak human language.

But they canonically don't know how Pokemon are born and they have done tests expecting the Pokemon to "interact" before and always failed to observe it even within the space of leaving them for less than a minute. I think it's safe to say sex exists in humans.

If anything these contradictory sets of lore only makes the Pokemon world that much deeper. Our own world has thousands of contradictory explanations for itself, it only fits that literal word of God would contradict word of NPC, with no clear answer from both because the truth is inherently unknowable.

unless the fetus somehow gets enveloped in an egg right before it's born, it's pretty safe to say that humans don't give birth to eggs

This makes no sense to me. By that logic we wouldn't use those classifications either, because here in the world of animals, they are all animals.

Because it took GameFreak nearly 10 years to realize that having a friendly rival with the same goal as the player character in a system where only the player can actually achieve it will always end on a depressing note for the rival character. It's why they made a champion rank in gen 9 and will likely keep it that way from now on, that way both you and your rivals can become champions.

In the anime, learning the actions/movements for the moves is key to learning the move, unless it's an arsepull, as in it learns a new move cold, rather than being shown in a training session attempting to ustilise/master the move (see Lycanroc learning Stone Edge, pulling it out of nowhere as it wanted to strike Tapu Bulu in the air and contrast Rowlet learning Seed Bomb and Torracat learning Flame Charge both of which received outside training in the movements/actions of the move before learning them, all in SM).
