Basically all the UBs would be retconned to have cosmic added on to their types instead of their differing and unique type combinations
Do we really need to specify a Pokemon is from outer space with a type? We already know canonically Pokemon inhabit other worlds so Pokémon in different planets would all be cosmic type which is retarded

If you want a new type then Sound is the safer option. But if you think it's retarded too then I like a lava type

Water and Ice, as well as Rock and Ground exist separately. So a lava type can exist. Magmar line, Slugma line, Entei, primal Groudon, Heatran, Typhlosion, Coalossal line all could be retconned.

The only thing I feel certain of is that Psychic should be strong against and resist Cosmic Type. Aliens with psychic abilities dominate the stars. Psychics can predict the future by reading the stars, they can warp space-time. Basically, if anyone COULD combat the enigmatic and otherworldly Cosmic beings, it would be Psychics.

No you misunderstand what Cosmic is, not literally everything that comes from space needs to be Cosmic, in the same way not all aquatic creatures need to be Water. If they come from space, but don't actually embody a cosmic theme or have cosmic-based powers, then they won't be Cosmic Type. Almost none of the UBs would change Type, none of them control space or stars as an elemental force like say Gothitelle does for example.
