Fire/Steel, Ground/Flying, Ghost/Fight, ect. are all good typings because the Pokemon that have them are better than if they had worse typing. Ice/Grass, Ice/Rock, Bug/Grass are bad typings because the Pokemon that have them are less viable than if they had better typings.
There are some exceptions like Magikarp having a good typing, but everything else about it being ass, while Darmanitan-G is incredibly strong (it has an effective 235 Base Atk after all), but has a bad typing.
Saying that exceptions like these disprove the importance of typings, it like saying having a 680 BST is bad because Slaking is bad.
