>>51662884Ok OP here I will explain the reasoning behind my choices. You guys can reply afterwards.
>RBSoulful because they are the original games, Tajiri's vision. Bad mechanically as every game in the series is better.
>Y Only kinda soulful because it panders to the anime. Still RB though so not completely soulless
>GSTajiri's vision, now bigger and better.
>CThird versions are inherently cash grabs, so it's only kinda soulful. But a lot of technical improvements over GS
>RSMasuda's first take on the series, so kinda soulful. Bad due to the soft reboot and cutting mechanics
>E A lot of needed improvements, so good
>FRLGBy the numbers soulless remake. Nothing to criticize mechanically, it runs very well and retains Kanto's good game design.
>DPSoulless rehash of the gen 3 structure. Doesn't feel like masuda's heart was in it. Slow, dex variety, mons locked to postgame etc make it bad.
>PlatinumIssues of the first fixed along with a lot of QoL to make it a good game but still soulless third version crashgrab of an already soulless game
>HGSSMorimoto's passion project and it shows
>BWfeels like Masuda poured a lot into it. Let down by some odd game design choices
>BW2First sequel instead of rehash. Mechanically probably one of the best in the series
>XYSoulless 3d transition, very generic style. Empty game with not much content. Masuda lost his passion again.
>ORASHoenn is a good base so they're kinda decent games but clearly again a forced by the numbers remake, doesn't feel like anyone actually cared about making it the best it can be
>SMOhmori takes control and you can see his influence in the game. A lot of issues with interruptions and dialogue, linearity hold it back
>USUMSoulless cashgrab. Mechanical improvement in every way, more content.
