I'm playing Gen 5 for the first time before SV come out, what are some things I should know b4 going in? I'm playing White not sure if it matters.

Avoid the monkeys, they are early in the game
Put text speed to fast because the game doesn't shut up
Pick female because Hilda is literally perfect

Play the designs you enjoy, obviously. The game is kinda forgiving on what pokemon you have.

you will not see a single mon from Gen 1-4 until after you beat the elite 4.
if you think that is a dealbreaker for you, just read a summary of BW's story and play B2W2.

game is really short in terms of content, because game talks a lot
pick whatever mon, but you might be surprised by evolution levels (some nigga you get in the last area in the main game at Lv40 evolves Lv64. yeah.)
BW2 is better in every regard but pokedex completion (can't get baby horse before postgame, sorry :^) )
