The twist most definitely involves the principle and his treasure hunt. He probably wants to do some time shenanigans and then accidentally causes the paradox mons to exist. Also Geeta is a robot from the alt future timeline and Arvens parents are separated across time and he dies

The scary part there is they have Arven go through all this trouble with Herba, then he finds out he's a Paradox. Then he CHOOSES to die, instead of looking for a solution... It's almost like Gamefreak is promoting adolescent suicide
