Do you think that a Pokemon foodchain exists? Do Pokemon eat other Pokemon? It's already a fact that people eat Slowpoke tails, and it's even hinted that Farfetch'd are sought after to eat.
The in-game universe assumes that all Pokemon are herbivores, or that they can only eat Berries/PokeChow. But would a stronger, more threatening mon, say a Charizard or Gyarados, not try to eat something smaller?
