I've never done a solo Poke run but I've considered trying it. Any advice? What game is easiest to do it with? I was inspired by that one Dewganon to do a solo Dewgong run.

USUM is the best game for a Dewgong run, since it's the earliest you get a Seel in any pokemon game. You get it in the first island in Seaward Cave

I think Gen 3 and 4 are probably pretty good. Good enough for a challenge but not so difficult gameplay wise. Gen 1 and 2 can be beaten with anything for the most part

adding onto this, some randomizers have features that let you manually edit a starter if you don't care about transferring it up later
platinum is usually my go-to for any solo run, but that's my personal bias. i also allow HM slaves (but not for combat/healing) but there's likely mods you could install to get around that too

I decided to play Platinum, and I used a randomizer so I could get Seel as a starter. Timid nature with Hydration as an ability. Maybe later in the game, when it evolves to Dewgong, i might post my results again.

If you trade the egg over and hatch it in your new save file, it'll have your OT and won't disobey you. That's what I did in my Onix solo run in HeartGold.
