They should just retcon them to permanent evolutions, after all theres no timeline, each game lives in a different reality from the others and theres mostly no canon. With dexcut they don't have a content related excuse anymore, its just a couple of extra models per gen.

I don't care, mega Aerodactyl is more viable than plain aerodactyl. Sure thats not the case for all megas and pseudos clearly shouldn't have a permanent mega, but shitmons like manectric won't have a chance to shine anymore.

Man they must really hate that they lead with megas when they decided to make a new gimmick mechanic for each generation going forward. DMax, Z moves, and Terra are all lame by comparison. Deliberately so, I'd imagine the longevity of the franchise is dependent upon setting expectations low.

Yeah. Most of the 1 or 2 stage ones, while still not a necessity, could have just been made into either cross-evos or alternate forms
At the end of the day fuck Gen 5 for killing cross-evos, and fuck Gen 6 for marketing cross-evos-but-worse as cross-evos-but-better

Considering Charizard sucked ass before that and was just kinda okay, maybe good after? You picked the worst example of a Pokemon that overtuned their Mega, at least pick something like Kangaskhan.

Charizard was always like, fine, just your classic starter
I mean, not ALWAYS but that's why it got buffed in Gen 2.
However I do agree that sideways evos similar to Scizor would have been more adapted in both cases (see >>51706490)
