I don’t know how to describe it. Kind of childish, but in that good way where you don’t give a shit about what others think and just wanna share the cool stuff on your mind and talk about how cool it is.
Almost nobody takes internet preservation seriously nowadays and it’s scary. From what I can gather it’s definitely more of a thing now than it used to be (“once it’s on the internet it’s there forever” is a sad lie, man) but it’s still not enough for the majority to care beyond some clickbait YouTube video every once in a while.
Kind of sucks; I’m like 18, just barely over the cusp of even being allowed to post here, I wasn’t around for most of this stuff. I can’t imagine what it was like. From what I hear, it was far more whimsical. Kinda jealous, haha. At least I can try to look back and try to figure it out myself. Gathering a small army of bookmarks and .htmls is better than leaving it to rot.
