Are we sure this wasn’t the case? Just because you battle alder as the “champion” afterwards doesn’t mean you aren’t the real champion as you’ve always been able to rechallenge the league with the original champion. Is there evidence that the player wasn’t considered champion prior to beating alder? Like a line of dialoguing saying “NOW you’re the champion” after beating alder or something?
