I stopped taking smogon seriously after they banned dynamax.

their format is so far removed from the actual game at this point that they would be better off just designing their own game with better balance and no RNG.

Hidden power had, at it's peak, 70 BP without Stab
While we don't know enough about Tera, a very low estimate for Tera Blast would be 70 BP * 1.5 due to STAB, and it'll probably be higher than that
Not to mention that Tera also can have defensive uses, grant STAB to coverage moves, or give any mon the equivalent of Adaptability, all for free

Tera is getting banned in the first week tops
