Keeping your original STABs is fucking retarded.
Now there is a lot less consideration for when your Terastallize. Now it’s more of a given to Terastallize your offensive Pokemon to new types instead of holding off. There is now no downside to it other than not using it on other Pokemon.

If this is true, this may have ruined the gimmick.

The thing is that this doesn’t change how its used defensively, and makes offense more dumb down.
Before:

Sucks that Aurorus and the rest of the fossil Pokémon are left out because a Brontosaurus pun would have been reality with it meaning "thunder lizard" and would have been epic considering that the Pokémon already has a myriad of Electric-type moves in its movepool. But leave it to Game Freak when it comes to excelling at wasted and missed potential once again. Also no Fairy-type Tyrantrum for STAB on Play Rough for the funny.

WHY!? That makes no sense. Part of the assumption of what would've made Terastal balanced is that you have to sacrifice everything about your OG typing if you changed type. Keeping the OG STAB just needlessly complicates things and gives less risk when using Terastal.

Ngl ice typee are looking scary if this is true.
Most of them actually have excellent stats aside from speed.
And the few speedy ones like Weavile terastilized into something like a water type to surprise its counters while keeping its amazing dual STAB might end up banned.

Define "balanced".
What is balanced? When only about 20 mons or so are allowed to possess sweeping potential and everything else must either be a wall, hazard control or revenge killer at best?
Truth is Dynamax allowed things like Braviary, Kabutops, Sandslash-A and Raichu-A to setup in one turn and sweep and that would make OU staples like Chomp look bad.
