Is this the worst Gen hype of all time? Gen 5 was a disappointing Gen, but at least the hype leading up to it was like wildfire.

Yeah but there is nothing to talk about beside small irrelevant details. No new designs shown, no new aera, just places we've seen before in old trailers. Every time they show more the game comes off worse. I understand people want to be excited about the next Pokemon, because it's all they're going to get for the next 3-4 years aside from potential spin offs. But every trailer, every "gameplay reveal" just exposes more and more how shallow it will be. The overworld is going to be empty. You're going to "Lets Go!" KO pokemon to farm TMs, which I'm already bored of having seen it done twice. I love how people are giddy at the reviewers saying how Mela is challenging. Fun fact: it won't be challenging. You're going to breeze through everything with no problem. And your postgame is going to model SWSH exactly: make competitive pokemon and wait to buy DLC to buy move tutors and make competitive pokemon, all of which will be obsolete when the next gimmick rolls around in gen 10. They phoned it in again.

That mechanic was loved by the normies, and unless they return I can't see people being hyped for anything in the games

Tell me what is there to be hyped for? Your favorite might get cut, you can't tutor new moves to old Pokémon because home is pants on head retarded and what they have shown doesn't not seem to be an optimized open world experience nor a good or polished world, they seem to want to lean more on western design than Anime inspired stuff this time and it seems to leave a lot of NPCs looking terrible, they need some style cohesion if you ask me
I'm just not hyped at all

Sadly this. I dont think ive seen actual legit hype for a pokemon game since gen 6 and megas were the main appeal of that hype. Niggas absolutely lost it when black dragon zard was revealed or how good mons like gar and chomp essentially become gods of the game now. Personally pokemon had its best and worse success in Kalos.

Game Freak needs to tap on mega hype, their games are starting to get stale and the anime is a mess right now, I kinda feel we are rushing towards a cliff of irrelevance franchise wise, the TCG is as succeful as it can be though they don't need to change any over there but without good games or anime their market for licensed products may dip for the first time since Go happened
