>>51731674Pokemon GO was trash. A cash grab reskin of niantic's last game that had essentially nothing to do with pokemon outside of flicking a pokeball. It could have been great. Making a generic pokemon game is piss easy programming wise. You just add battles, trades, and moves with bluetooth and suddenly you've recreated the link cable style socialization. Then you make the pokemon that spawn actually match the place you are in the world. You find salt water pokemon on the coast, fresh water near large lakes and rivers. Grass/bug pokemon in forests or parks. Ghost pokemon in graveyards or memorials. Species relevant to the climate and local wildlife of the area. Now the pokemon feel like they're truly in the world instead of random spawns thrown around recklessly. All of a sudden people are traveling everywhere, meeting people, talking, laughing.
Take it further and place legendary pokemon at famous places in the real work. Entei spawning only at volcanos.
You want to catch Articuno? top of Mount Evrest.
Kyogre? Mariana Trench.
Mewtwo? Area 51.
Every time some zoomer faglord brings it up it just pisses me off because it could have been a global pokemania resurgance with the barest bit of effort. It was SO FUCKING EASY and they still failed.
