I used to play gen5 and cameback now and notice the complete lack of diversity of strats and diferent mons,why isnt basic shit like staraptor even allowed to use in OU?

Staraptor is not in Sword and Shield. You can't catch it, you can't transfer it in.

As >>51734769 and >>51734754 said its not in the main game, however it is available in the NatDex and BDSP OU. In NatDex it doesn't even make a quarter of a percentage of usage (though its more than its usage in gen 5), but in BDSP its at 17.10% and is considered to be a B+ mon in the tier. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a very active tier

BDSP is a dead metagame that's less active than Gen IV. Just play Gen IV, it's the same thing but better, BDSP doesn't even have a unique gimmick going for it over Gen IV, like Megas.

If you are talking about gen 5 OU in 2022... You can use basic shit like Staraptor. If you are talking about gen 8 OU then just know that some pokemon didn't make it to the game. There is a diverse pool in OU but not diverse enough to compare to older gens. I'll leave stats links here so you can see what is being used and what is not being used, have fun.

This is very true. Losing to pikachu and losing to Garchomp just make you lose a number at the end of the day. Just like beating someone with a Pikachu on their team just adds to that number, which is way more probable to happen.

Im comparing the poke usage in each generation,when I used to play in gen5 there was way more choice of pokes that were used and you would even find a lot of UU and RU in every match,now every match it seems to be a spam of landorus,heatran,weavile etc
Citing staraptor was just using an example of a mon that imo is banned for no valid reason and just make the strategy and meta weaker

Staraptor isn't banned. It's not in the game, period. A couple hundred Pokemon were cut from the dex in Sword and Shield and cannot be obtained in any capacity. It was kind of a big thing. Because Smogon tries not to alter the game in a way that you wouldn't be able to play it on cartridge, that means none of the Pokemon that were cut are in any of the main formats.
You can play Gen 8 National Dex to use those mons.
