At this point I can't tell if people who think Incineroar is a good design are shitposting or not. Either way it's genuinely just bad, yet another modern Pokémon design that looks like it was adapted straight from an early draft without any refinement.

This, Alola’s dex is the best one we’ve gotten in a long while if ever. I really only think the quality of designs went down with SWSH and it got even worse in PLA. We’ll see if SV fares any better.

I’m genuinely happy to hear some people liked most of the new designs but I really hate a lot of the new forms in that game. It has a few god tier designs mixed in there like Basculegion as you mentioned but I can’t stand a lot of them.

Gen 5 is generally considered apart of a modern category, for... some reason. It's why there's been (albeit limited) calls for a new, postmodern category to help rectify the complete ass show that is trying to compare the Switch games to the handhelds..

Gen 5 is when they started the anime plots with a million side-character friends and started focusing more on the human characters than Pokemon. This is why its lumped in with nu-Gens even though aesthetically and route-design wise its closer to the early games.

nu pokemon is a reddit tier meme, if you want to do a split between old and new for pokemon it should be not on the transition from 2D to 3D but from the end of the DS era to the Switch
gen 6 was fine despite its small size and 7 was fantastic, 8 is pretty weak but still has a handful of good ones

What pisses me off the most is that Mantine got a +20 buff to its HP in Gen 7, but Skarmory didn't. Also how Mantine got a baby evolution, when Skarmory was the one who needed it more because it would allow for it to potentially be an early route Mon.
