The issue is that it's a fuckload of triangles with incredibly complicated regularities, where there are any. It's the exact kind of thing that's legitimately better to use a SNES or N64 workstation to CG the lineart than attempt to freehand, and the "typical" fanart community just doesn't work that way.

It's basically a clusterfuck, not to mention it's full of dark colors too making it more difficult. Unless you're going for a splayed pose, placing it any sort of scene where it would overlap itself is going to make it look like a big black spot.

Even if you're not an artfag, I have an easy example of how this could be hard. Get a black sharpe, draw a skeleton, but have the right art cross over the ribcage without making it a big black mess in the middle.

Looks like a drawing, but you can see they didn't bother keeping with the reference picture. You can clearly see the body portion is much, much thicker.

When you have a bunch of straight angular lines, not drawing them well reslly sticks out. In general more organic looking things are easier to draw compared to a bunch of polygons. Since he is also see through you have to mind the pose, in most poses it will look like an unreadable clusterfuck. Try drawing a human, and then a skeleton, you'll understand why Eternatus is hard ti draw
