Notice how Brycen was retired for the darker-skinned Marlon, the Lenora controversy, and it's clear Gen 5 marks the beginning of wokeness in the series.
N would have been the most logical choice as the champion in BW2 hiven his immense popularity at the time, too bad he is white.
