>Just played R/B and what exactly did these guys do wrong?

>>but they sell them!!
>And? They caught those rare Pokemon, it's on them to decide what to do with them. I'd think selling them to a trainer willing to use them is better than sticking it in a box for all eternity like the player does.
>>they killed a cubone's mother while trying to get their skulls
>How is this any different to just...regular hunting? In fact it's even less morally ambiguous because it was implied to be accidental. At worst it sounds like manslaughter...of an animal. Didn't know people who accidentally hit deer with their cars are scum of the earth.
>>they took over silph co!
>For the grand ultimate evil plan of...Giovanni having a chat with the president? Hell what does Giovanni even do that's actually evil?
>>they have whips! they abuse pokemon!
>And the player doesn't by catching stuff and forcing it into dogfighting matches?
>Yeah I know Gen 5erino said they all like to fight. But that's a lazy retcon that happened years after the original fact. If I played this game in the 90s that wouldn't be an excuse for why I'm supposed to hate them.
>The ONE unambiguously bad thing they do is the guy who steals the Dig TM. But other than that they either commit no real crimes or do things that are less worse than most players do without realizing. The only reason I even knew they were evil is because some NPCs disliked them and the grunts kept going "WE'RE EVIL AND WE'RE GOING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD BECAUSE WE'RE TEAM ROCKET BLAGHAHAHAHA" like some shitty caricature.
>Really did enjoy having been railroaded into fighting a bunch of people who objectively did barely anything wrong
