Stop coping. No one plays “optimally” because they buy games for fun, not missions. Playing normally yields XY easier than any other game in the series that came before.

Not overleveling intentionally. This consists of not using too few or too many mons. You know, how the other 99% of people play. To have fun. Not to speed run.

I thought the same but it makes sense since this allows the Elite Four to have the three basic types with their megas (Grass, Fire and Water), then dragon (which is conveniently resistant to all of them) before the Champion. I like it.
