They won't.
U-turn will still be used on everything that uses it because people use it for the utility.

What will make people cope is if Pivot moves required that you pick a Pokemon to switch into before the turn actually starts. This way, you can't just U-turn into something and select what Pokemon best fits the scenario. You have to predict what will be on the field when clicking it.

...in a game which includes a modified version of the Move Mastery system from Legends. The normal version doesn't switch you out, just dispels trapping moves. The original U-Turn effect is now the mastered version, which costs 2 PP instead of 1.
