Alain, Lance, Diantha, Cynthia, Iris, and Steven are only filler characters in this tournament, filling the plot before the climax of Ash vs. Leon. Anyone who thinks the match is already "rigged" like that should already abandon it, yet all the shitflingins happened by those who are invested into it seriously.
