Teambuilding and exploration. The series continues to be unmatched in the feeling of putting a team together and exploring a new region. Even the worst games in the series do this very well, so I always come back.

Exploration, getting close to my team, the characters, the Pokemon to discover, the simple gameplay, the escapism it gives me, the way it inspires me creatively. There's more, but in short it just feels comfy.
