Your current fans do not live forever. Pokemon is a children's franchise, yet the people who "stick around" are adults. You can see the problem here. Growth also stops if you cater to the fans you already have instead of getting new ones.

The franchise is built around kids being drawn to the franchise, sticking around for one or two gens, and then outgrowing it and getting replaced by new kids.

If you are going to do a cross promotion deal then it's better to get someone with an obsessive following and one more likely to cross over in the first place. Like an obvious one would be Kyary Pamyu Pamyu or BTS. For more Spanish market relevence get some reggaeton shite, it's huge in Latin America but also mainland Europe somehow.
If you're going to get a hatable British man, didn't hey already use Harry styles? That would be a considerably more effective guy to partner with.
