GF also plays around with different ways on stylizing and interpreting a clam's foot/siphon when designing clammons. In the case of Huntail/Gorebyss, eels are being likened to a clam's foot. Cloyster simply stylizes the siphon as another giant spike. The clam's foot in Shellder's case can be interpreted as a clam having a tongue, or the clam biting off another animal's tail (Slowpoke)
