The SwSh OST was as well and I remember maybe 3 songs from PLA
This series has hit a worse low than Sonic

Pretty good, I never really liked the Johto Elite Four theme to begin with so my opinion is a bit distorted.

The violin playing a beautiful melody in between the fast parts really solidify just how beautiful, strong and elegant of a gay man Wallace is. His theme is WAY better than Steven's rendition of it. Hits in all the right places.

Hahah Galartrash now I know you're based, I like this rendition a bit more, reminds me of Iris's Champion theme which I always liked with the EDM style.

I forgot you battle Giovanni in HGSS. Agree totally, violin really escalates the intensity and makes you feel like a challenge is impending.

Never heard this one, good remix. The melody mixed in is really nice and works really well. Added to muh playlist thanks bro

Appreciate the effort post, usually /vp/ is a shithole, last time I came here was 4 years ago believe it or not.

Exactly yeah idk what the fuck they're doing, maybe all the old composers left. SwSh went ham on the slap-bass and a lot of the time it didn't work. They even got guest composers for some reason too. Really weird.

Main games only here, OST is perhaps the only genuine quality content of all Pokémon games in general. But I guess starting from Gen VII the OST quality flopped. I often subjectively guess how good/bad is one game solely from the music alone (not just Pokémon, but any other games. I almost always never played the game, only listened to the tracks).

B2W2 is perhaps the one where OST greatly improved from BW. Each Gym Leaders get their own OST to match their Gyms is quality. PWT also brought the direct comparison on Gym leaders' & Champions' OSTs of previous four gens into Gen V remix.

As for remakes, ORAS got the biggest quality improvement, more upbeat and comes with new tracks (like Battle:Zinnia), yet the predecessors HGSS & FRLG still have its' OSTs remastered decently to mirror DPPt and RSE. Never touched BDSP, but I assume like the gameplay, the music gonna be shit without improvements from DPPt.

>Rival: 2 > 3 > 5 > 4 > 6 > 1
>Gym Leader: 5 > 3 > 6 > 4 > 1 > 2
>Elite Fours: 5 > 6 > 3 > 2 > 1 > 4 (shouldn't be a minor tweak of Gym Leader battle)
>Champion theme & battle: Cynthia > Diantha > Lance > Steven (Wallace should have his own theme) > Iris > Red > Alder
