Starters now come with fixed personalities instead of just being a monster that could be anything. Can you imagine a lazy Cinderace that's not interested in soccer? not really, but you can imagine a Charizard that likes fighting, a Charizard that lights sleeping all day, one that was meek and one that's ferocious. I can't imagine a Primarina that doesn't sing but I can imagine a a sceptile that loves being in trees as much as I can imagine a sceptile that prefers grassland and one that prefers spamming leafblade and slash attacks and one that prefers spamming bullet seed and ranged moves
