India seems likely, they have the culture and history to make an interesting region. It's also possible we've gotten hints of its existence with Laventon talking about the Copperajah's of his homeland, assuming they're not native to Galar. Brazil, Greenland, and Mesopotamia also have a lot of potential.

In terms of likelihood, I’d say India first, Mexico second, Brazil third. I still think we’re more likely to get a Australia or China based region before any of those others I listed though for Gen 10

In terms of future outlook, GameFreak has a lot of developed countries to get through first before being desperate enough to go for a LatAm setting

Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Norway, and Greece are all insignificant countries.

Pokemon sell a lot more in countries like Brazil, India and Mexico due to the sheer amount of their populations.

Even if only 20% are rich enough to buy the games, it's still tens of times more people than in those other ones.

Because Africa, itonically enough, isn't diverse enough for a Pokemon game and GF doesn't want to have just brown people walking around. Hence why I don't think they'd ever do India.

it would be a great region, but it will generate a lot of controversy
firstly, the map
the northern tip of india is currently disputed territory
no matter what you do, you are going to piss off the other side
include it in the map, you piss off pakis, muslims, and chinese
exclude it from the map, you piss off indians
plus, it will be subject to plenty of memes and indians are not familiar with banter or internet culture
they get easily offended, thinking you are mocking them
and then there's portrayal of religion, culture, traditions; all of which very important in india
i dont think its possible to create a region like this without deeply offending someone

i had a feeling hyrule is loosely based on india, with its very cloudy/monsoon weather, sprawling fields everywhere outside settlements, worship of stone idols and female deity, rupees

Another cool India based region in a game is Sumeru from genshin impact. It’s a neat mix of Indian, Persian and Egyptian all combined into one region with different parts of the region taking greater influence from one of the three.

but i do love how the archon is female, which goes well with how india is one of the few places where female deities are worshipped, the theme is all about wisdom and knowledge, and most tracks use the sitar, which is the instrument used by an indian goddess who represents knowledge and wisdom

The names of places and animals simply changed to fit the Pokemon universe.
Explicit Americans now hail from Unova, and animals like India Elephants are now their Pokemon equivalent.
I don't expect the region to be explicitly set in South America, but rather the Pokemon world equivalent.

MENA is a less broad definition that only includes the Middle East and North Africa and cultural and economic cooperation between those states specifically.
