Thanks for the memes, and the good times.

I'm genuinely feeling bittersweet, standing here with my partner, knowing we've squeezed just about everything out of these games. I'm definitely ready to move on, but i'll be sad to leave my friends behind.

I genuinely feel bittersweet. This was such a wack Gen. Like I have a hard time enjoying Swsh other than for team building, bdsp was a glorified rom sold for 60, and legends had a great framework, but lacks substance and the cool features they made are not being brought forward.

I usually feel sad when a new Gen ends, but I don’t feel that here. This feels like one big stop gap more than anything

Not being able to communicate between games really gave a lot less charm to this gen.
One could say it was already the case with Let's Go, sure, but those were off-shoot and on another console.
But not being able to do battles between SwSh and BDSP felt... just so wrong, coming from ORAS.
It removed that usual sense of completeness you have at the end of a gen, making you ready to move on.
Here I feel like Gen 8 still lacks games to be complete, despite having the most entries in a way.
At the end of the day, weird-ass gen, and I wish I could consider it an exception, but it seems to be the business model from now on.
You hate to see it.

Grass is my favorite type and I'm glad for flapple, rillaboom and zarude, great new pokes

I liked a lot the inclusion of TRs and new moves from the tutor in isle of armor

Some interesting gym leaders like Opal and Rayhan

A lot of really great new moves, some of them are very creative

Raid battles are nice

Not gonna miss Gen 8, but it was good.

It did. Huge agree on the anime, and the general organization of the gen was messy as fuck from TPC's end.
but I don't think Covid changed fuckshit to SwSh - which was by far the most agregious thing about Gen 8.

You're baiting with the last one, but I'll concede and admit that gen 7 was the worst. Gen 8 was mostly just disappointing. Meanwhile I still haven't beaten gen 7 because the cut scenes and hand holding are atrocious.

This was the first gen I skipped since I started playing Pokemon. I couldn't stomach the new pokemon designs. They were laughably bad and a lot will suffer when Gmax goes the way of Megas. I felt nothing for any of the starters or legendaries. I also didn't like how they removed moves and removed the toxic tm. It just limits options for the sake of nerfing.

Gen 7's story was based and the mons were better than Gen 5, 6, and 8's. Gen 6 was undercooked but had more soul than Gen 8 which was just as undercooked and Megas are cooler than Gmaxes. Gen 3 is the best gen.

My brother bought the game and after watching him play a couple of times I decided to never touch that shit even with a 2m stick.

also they forgot the main entry needed to have content, so they sold the content back for thirty bucks more.

Yeah but idk if they pull that bullshit where if you change your console's time it locks out some time based shit for 24 hours unless you do something that overlooks it like searching for an online battle and searching for den friends like in SwSh. I doubt they'd just let you change your time on the fly since a Pokemon game never really allowed you to do that for events since gen 4 and it only happened in SwSh by presumably accident
