The idea of a gold theme is pretty good honestly since he has a gemstone theme going on but I think a different shade of yellow is needed. Something like Magikarp, it's just a little too dark on Sableye. Though I think I'd make it light blue (diamonds) or black (obsidian) but that's because I really don't like piss shinies and they're very easy to accidentally make

I've been thinking of a Gem related ability for sableye in place of Stall. Pickup but just for gems? Maybe with a item refresh like normal pickup does with items? Gets some other boost while holding/consuming a gem in battle?

Jewelry from Clover, which is just Pickup but with gems instead, does most of what you described.
Or you could make a Harvest copy but for gems. I know a fangame did that for Carbink.
