When did you guys outgrow pokemon? I have had many experiences where pokemon progressively lost my interest.
1st time : Grade 2, Pokemon Gold and silver now around half a year old, I ask an older kid on the playground with a gameboy "what version are you playing" he calls me an idiot and says not every gameboy game is pokemon. Pokemon officially stopped being cool/ trendy here.
2. Fire red / leafgreen about to be released, make shit up and tell friend I play pokemon with that the starters are getting new evolutions ( the hacks at gamefreak later did this for real with megas ) he just says he's not getting the games because he already played them back on red/blue. Now lack irl people to play with.
3. Gen 5, first time I felt ashamed to actually buy a pokemon game, it was embarrassing to buy. Game felt like a rehash of gen 1, I had played through previous games dozens of times with nearly every team combination. Gen 5 I struggle to get 3 playthroughs ( one for each starter)
Gen 6 -- I literally could not finish this game, it was so boring, the first 3D handheld game and it's just ass.
Gen 7+ pirated all of them, have yet to beat a single one
I skipped pokemon go but started playing last year because I cute japanese girl makes me play it with her. If anyone notices they bring it up "people still play that??"
