Why have the mainline Pokemon OSTs gotten worse since Gen 8? SwSh was pretty bad, but still had a few highlights

Bede's theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_TPXbH7ee4 - Not bad in terms of arrangement, gives off antagonistic vibes and I like the use of the voice sample. Instrumentation is a tad questionable. Part at 0:44 is very good and a classic sort of Pokemon melody
Hop's theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0HuqoKre3Y - friendly, playful, hopeful and ever so slightly clumsy, this does very well at exemplifying Hop's personality, I like the part at 0:32.

Why did they suddenly decide to just go for a cacaphonic mix of slap bass and rockish synths all of a sudden? Gen 9 seems to be following this too... Unironically Pokemon Masters EX blows Gen 8 and 9's OSTs out of the water
