>>51833747The starters are the only ones I go out of my way to have spoiled for me after Gen 5. I picked Snivy thinking it was a unique-looking lizard and then it evolved into what looked like a poorly drawn snake. At least the previous generations where I just guessed based on the first stage and gradually learned to love it, Serperior always remained kind of a disappointment for me. Then I looked up the other evolutions and the only one I liked was Emboar.
Since then, the evolutions have become increasingly divisive, ESPECIALLY the water final starters which have all been these lanky, weird looking twink Pokemon while the fire starters all give me the impression they wanted them to be sexy to different audiences. The grass ones are the only ones who have remained kind of cool monsters, but seeing a green cat definitely makes me worried it's going to be another Delphox situation and I just don't want sexy shit in my party. I think it's such a weird design choice for Pokemon and it's part of why I could never getting fully into Digimon designs.
