I only have two real criticisms about it:
- The lack of the Gen 2 Evolutions for Pokemon like Golbat, Eevee, and so on. Would have been nice to not lock them into the post game, but I guess the reasoning is that they didn't come up with such a thing until HeartGold/SoulSilver.
- The lack of a definitive third version. I always felt like Remakes should get a definitive third version, or at least back when it was a thing. An Electric/ThunderYellow would have been great if it implemented the obviously rigged Battle Frontier from Emerald.
My criticism of HeartGold/SoulSilver always just comes down to the lack of the Sevii Islands which were introduced in FireRed/LeafGreen.
