>>51842935it can be, actually. there are a lot of forms of it and when something doesnt suit a perceived pattern, ocd will activate. people who try to gatekeep the term (as a diagnosis) ironically end up doing as much harm as media depictions; its not just needing to touch every light fixture you see, but it encompasses things like the inability to stop yourself from thinking about something that bothers you in a different and more "i know its insignificant but its destroying my world right now" way than general stress experienced by people without OCD.
