Is switch oled worth the upgrade? I have a day one switch and play exclusively handheld.

I also play mostly handheld and got a Lite when it launched. I barely use my OG Switch anymore. But I guess the OLED is better if you plan to play outdoors a lot.

Also have a day one switch. Decided to buy the SV OLED because my first one seem to break soon since the fans got a lot louder and its heating up recently.

The original Switch already got refined in 2019. So if you have similiar problems and the money, buying the OLED wouldn't be a bad idea.

If you're gonna hack your old one, why shell out for the OLED? Not like you can get saves off of it. Additionally, Nintendo is probably gonna release nextgen when tears of the kingdom releases like the did for botw. Mind you, I have doubts it'll be backwards compatible.

I absolutely love my OLED. I traded my v1 launch day Switch in at GameStop as a pro member and got $200 toward the purchase of an OLED. If you normally use handheld or tabletop, to me the screen size and kick stand were worth the upgrade alone.

If you're tech illiterate, just get switch. Deck can emulate switch but emulation is emulation. It won't run everything perfectly or even well with some games. It obviously can also play your steam library, which is great to play through your backlog if you have a commute or time to play it regularly. I have a desktop and deck, and I play the deck on my commute and breaks when I'm not playing something on my switch.

Having this same thought because my day 1 switch fan is obviously old and dying also the battery is fucking destroyed I assume cause the console literally shuts off due to empty battery when its at 100%
