The nidos weren't intended to be version exclusives (though they DID have different encounter rates on the various routes they appeared between games), Appletun and Flapple were intended to be, because otherwise the only exclusives would be shit people could transfer into Home, which doesn't earn Game Freak nearly as much money as selling xm copies of the alt version game does.
