I used to get both versions. With Black 2 / White 2 I stopped doing that.
In the meantime, however, I have to say that I miss the second version: During the first playthrough, I put my team together based on the Pokemon that I encounter in the normal course of the game. Normally I don't know the advantages of the Pokemon that well and especially the Pokemon that can be caught later don't have a chance to shine.
Some time after the first playthrough, I always want to start a new game at least once. Until then, Pokemon Home compatibility is there, I have all the important breeding items and good Pokemon to put together the perfect dream team for a second playthrough.
The problem: I don't want to have to delete my first saved game. So I need a second game.
Yes, I know I could just create a second profile on the Switch, but I'm too autistic to do that.
I found a very cheap Steelbook deal, so I pre-ordered both games again this time.
