I haven't played in a minute, is the game still in a bad spot? Gems only first week is honestly so bad, way worse than people make it up to be. Majority of players basically cannot try out the new character at all. Doesn't help that new mons are overpriced

Game is pretty balanced despite the complainers. Only a few mons need nerfs badly and only a few need buffs badly. I main a bottom 5 mon and have a 60%+ wr with it.

unite cost me a 170€ screen replacement
not because I smashed my switch directly but I kinda threw it over my shoulder onto my bed (not hard) when I got frustrated after losing and it bounced off and fell down onto the chair wheel thing.
the screen is hard plastic so I still don't understand how that was enough to kill it.

Maybe he helped teammates escape multiple times, allowing them to survive, do more damage, etc. Not saying he tangibly made a bigger difference in the game but it's possible that without his efforts that the rest wouldn't have done as well.

Cuz the game is the one that puts them in our matches.
I don't care about there being bad players, but those players should not be in Masters.
If matchmaking was stricter they'd still be down in Veteran, but because the game wants everyone in Masters those shitters get to climb the ranks and ruin matches.
The fact that two people can be in the 1600s but one has a 60% winrate and the other has a 45% winrate cuz he spammed more matches to get there is fucking baffling.

I've gotten MVP during a 4-man unit game where I was Blissey, AKA definitely not getting the objectives
in fact I get MVP most games ever since they changed the formula regardless of what mon I'm using, how much I score, how many KOs I get etc.
really seems like just showing up for an objective is the biggest factor

It's super good in lane as long as the enemy doesn't have Pika/Mamo/Vulpix/Mew but even then only Pika is certain danger since you can get lucky and dash past the others' moves

You can play solo but, y'know, the SoloQ experience is exactly what you'd expect.
Except worse, because this is a Pokemon game so it's full of casuals and children artificially boosted by bot games and comeback mechanics along with a stupidly easy ranked climb meaning little to no separation in player quality. You can be a top player and you WILL get the 42% winrate 7000 games Zeraora main instalock your jungle.

You can play solo. Just like with LOL, sometimes you'll get good teams and sometimes you'll get shit teams. Sometimes you'll get bullied by the enemies and do shit, or maybe just plainly shit for no reason. Just how it goes with games where you have to rely on teammates.

Wigglytuff is just mediocre in general, it really needs to get a buff to Unite range. The Shield may be tiny but team-wide unstoppable is still huge, it just needs to not need the entire team be huddled around you for it to work.
Slap/Gleam is just preference, but Rollout/Sing should really be a decision based on what the enemy team has. Lots of CC on the enemy team to stop you running in? Probably best to Rollout. Enemy team has a lot of mons that need to consistently get off their moves/autos to do damage and stay alive? Sing shuts them down hard.

I can't think of a team comp where a Venu is considered broken. Like, even if you have 5 attackers, odds are at least two of them will have CC and it will be Venu's downfall.

I can't say whether zeroing in on whales this hard is a winning strategy, but it seems like it's at the expense of the larger pool of occasional buyers. Imo, the best of both worlds would be to allow coin purchases day 1 and just give gem purchasers priority in picking the new mon in the character select screen for a week after purchase.

Jungle is for carries generally, don't take the auto laning too seriously.
Its the mon you want the most performance from, cinder, ttar, dnite or whatever the fuck aren't worse than your average speedster for jungle. And it has been pretty consistently meta to use other roles instead.
Not to say speedsters don't belong there, just that there isn't actually that much of a bias to them.

I am assuming Gard/Slowbro gets a big buff in stats/moves since these 2 mons have been really struggling since the new map dropped (rip exp and good Fug)
Clefable will get the Wiggly treatment and have its bulk added with a buff to follow me most likely.
Mew will get a nerf most likely in its HP
Urshifu will probably have a ignore defense gimmick where Dark focuses more on crits and Water focuses more on sustainability for multi hitting.
Pult will have a ignore Sp-def gimmick range gimmick
Basically rip defenders as they are screwed over again. Their is really no point in playing defenders with everything all rounders have. High damage and more sustainability then defenders.

No that's not right. HV/CM actually takes skill to use because noobs keep screwing up with it. Yes it has its usage for tournaments but like you said it has not a dominating factor like Mime/T-tar/Mew are. If it's not a key dominate figure/at the top destroying most of everything it shouldn't be nerf. Plus no real point to play HV/CM sylveon when Mew solar beam still destroys, early farm steal and has a much better unite/damage sylveon could have.
Devs Just need to lower CD and increase damage/speed of DK, rework MF damage ratio to be favorable, buff the Unite charge time & let sylveon debuffs that Target Sp-atk to work on both ATK & Sp-atk because the Physical meta mons are really dominating the meta so sylveon doesn't die from 1 punch/kick.

I know I say this at the risk of being cringe, but this is kind of what I was waiting for. I didn't really vibe with any of the Pokemon on the roster, not in the sense I hated them but just in the way that none of them were my favorites, so that was one of the reasons I quit Unite. I mean I'm fine with fighting getting some variety, I'm just tired of it being a generic dual type to everything and it being on starters. Including Hisui's set, 6 out of 10 starter sets have a Fighting type on them.
I think the problem is best illustrated when you look at Normal's dual types. So many of them (including the retconned ones) are one of those four types and it's almost all Gen 6 onwards.

Being revealed before released and being on an important NPCs' team aren't immediate requisites for shillmon status. That's like calling Golisopod a shillmon because it was revealed before SM's launch and is the ace of Guzma. Duraludon has no particularly strong push post-launch and largely only appeared in the context of Raihan's presence, that's not being a shillmon

Fun fact: The game tells you it will subtract 10 goodboy points from afks in case of a successful report (which is rare enough), but if you actually check their Api afterwards, they only lose 5. In other words, Unite has become even more LENIENT towards griefers than before.

This was the case before, because I remember checking profiles to find them 85 points, but now it's always 95 at best. The 10 points came from individual player reports and the 5 are automated from afk detection. Since they apparently abolished the 10 point penalty, this means your individual report does literally - LITERALLY - nothing. The report system might as well not exist.

Decidueye was close enough I guess, and they did tease it with the Rowlet pumpkin.
The problem there is moreso that Decidueye isn't exactly the most ghostly Pokemon out there and definitely not a Halloween mon.
