Having to go through the entire encounter scenario, menu though to pick a ball, etc. is suck a slog and reminds me why I never really did "catch 'em all" challenges.
Like seeing all those Pokemon in PLA, I'd chuck a few Pokeballs and continue about my trip, then review their natures once I'm back at a camp site.
But now I'll have to slowly go through a whole encounter scenario, menu to through Pokeballs, etc. for each and every one of them.
Such a shame we'll have to wait until Gen 10 or even 11 before main-line Pokemon catches up with PLA. And even then, we'll probably have a PLA-like sequel that pushes what Pokemon can truly be even further.
