>>51876832The actual answer is that dubbing is considered the lowest of the low form of acting in English speaking countries, below even doing radio commercials. It pays like absolute ass, all the voice directors and shit are incompetent fucks because, again, it pays so badly everyone that don't suck are capable of getting better paying work elsewhere, and the end result is that dub actors are literally just actors that suck so hard they can't get any kind of work outside of dubbing.
The above is true for all dub industries - anime, movies, video games etc. - but especially for anime, the kind of people that insist on never listening to anything in another language have also just become used to this kind of ass quality over the years and just think of the awful acting as "how anime sounds", providing even less incentive for anime dub companies to hire actual talent.
