Oldfag here, skipped the entirely of gen 7-8, and dont know anything about the upcoming gen 9. I like gen 3-4-5 and hated gen 6 for being too easy and filled with gimmicks

If i have to take specific moves to intentionally make a game harder because the basegame is meant for retarded 2 years old, then it's an easy game.
At least in previous games the EXP wasnt share to the entire team, leading to you overleveling everything of 4-5 levels without even noticing. You had to grind previously to do so

It was implied by the OP because he said he liked those gens but 6 was too easy. Anon is right, 6 isn't any easier than 3, 4 or 5. If you play Pokemon for the story and then complain that it isn't difficult enough for you then maybe you should try battling online or playing a different game.

I hate how the game is looking but if I had to try and sell someone on it I would say that it's fully non linear open world (as far as we know) and that you can travel around with 3 friends on the map for the first time. It also has the return of following pokemon and the type changing gimmick could be fun. I really can't think of anything else beyond that it's so ugly

God, this gen 6 nigger is so annoying, he's on here literally everytime I have to shit too. Sorry he derailed the fuck out of your thread OP that's all he knows how to do. I would probably wait a little longer before deciding to buy SV, it looks fun so far but we have no idea how difficult it will be if you like a challenge in the story. I am pretty hesitant at the moment since SwSh was very barebones and had no aftergame battle facility, and basically no post game at all unless you paid for DLC. As for gimmicks it's a weird crystal thing that lets you change the type of your pokemon in battle as another anon mentioned. Sorry if it's not super helpful but I think it's too early to give you a definitive answer.
